Job Summary:
The Operations Project Manager – M&A is responsible for managing and consolidating vendor relationships, contracts, and negotiations during mergers and acquisitions. This role requires expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, and operational integration. The Operations Project Manager works to streamline external partnerships, drive cost savings, and ensure vendor alignment with the newly integrated organization’s goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in vendor management within an M&A context, including assessing and consolidating contracts to maximize value.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Relationship Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors, acting as the primary point of contact during the M&A integration process to ensure continuity and alignment.
Contract Review & Consolidation: Evaluate existing vendor contracts from both organizations, identifying opportunities for consolidation, cost savings, and efficiency improvements.
Negotiations & Cost Optimization: Lead contract renegotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms that support the integrated organization’s operational and financial goals.
Due Diligence & Compliance: Conduct due diligence on vendor agreements to assess compliance, risk, and alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as Procurement, Legal, Finance, and IT to ensure comprehensive contract review and alignment with operational needs.
Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish metrics to monitor vendor performance, service levels, and costs, providing regular updates to M&A leadership on consolidation outcomes.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in vendor management, helping to standardize vendor onboarding, performance assessment, and contract renewal processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
5-7 years of experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, or procurement, with experience in M&A or business integration projects preferred.
Proven track record of managing vendor contracts, including consolidation and negotiation to achieve cost efficiencies.
Strong knowledge of vendor management best practices and contract compliance requirements.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
