Reports To: M&A Program Manager or VP/Director of IT Integration
Job Summary:
The IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the integration of IT systems and technologies during M&A activities, ensuring alignment between the acquiring and acquired company’s IT infrastructure, applications, and security protocols. This role requires a strong understanding of IT project management within the context of M&A, focusing on seamless integration and minimizing operational disruptions. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing IT integrations in M&A and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration Planning & Coordination: Develop and execute detailed IT integration plans, addressing application integration, infrastructure alignment, and data migration to ensure a seamless transition.
Systems Assessment & Gap Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of both companies’ IT environments to identify compatibility gaps, potential risks, and integration opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with IT leadership, cybersecurity teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure technology alignment with overall integration goals.
Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to achieve integration milestones within set deadlines.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and manage risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues that could impact the IT integration’s success.
Data Migration & Security: Manage data migration and integration of databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with data security standards throughout the transition.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor IT system performance during and after integration, identifying opportunities for optimization and ensuring that systems operate effectively post-integration.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare integration status reports and maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, lessons learned, and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (certifications in PMP, PRINCE2, or related preferred).
5-7 years of experience in IT project management, with specific experience in M&A IT integrations.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, data migration, and cybersecurity best practices.
Proven experience managing complex IT projects with a focus on system integration and data security.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
