Job Title: Data Migration Specialist – M&A Integration

Job Summary:
The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for managing the migration and integration of data from acquired systems into the acquiring company’s environment, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility. This role requires extensive knowledge of data migration processes, data mapping, and transformation, along with a focus on minimizing disruptions during M&A integrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data migration within M&A contexts, ensuring that data transitions are smooth and aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Migration Planning & Execution: Develop and implement detailed data migration plans, including data mapping, transformation, and loading strategies to ensure smooth and timely migration.
Data Mapping & Transformation: Perform data mapping and transformation to ensure compatibility between acquired systems and the target environment, maintaining data accuracy and quality.
Data Integrity & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough data validation and quality checks to ensure data integrity, completeness, and consistency throughout the migration process.
Risk & Issue Management: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data migration issues, mitigating risks related to data loss, duplication, or corruption.
Security & Compliance: Ensure that all data migration processes comply with organizational data security standards and regulatory requirements, including data privacy laws.
Collaboration with IT & Business Teams: Work closely with IT, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and to ensure alignment with overall integration objectives.
Documentation & Reporting: Document data migration procedures, mappings, and outcomes, providing regular status reports to IT and M&A leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in data migration, data management, or data integration, preferably within M&A contexts.
Proficiency with data migration tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL tools, data mapping software).
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality principles, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Experience working in complex data environments with knowledge of both structured and unstructured data formats.
